I made the box using red card stock and added a window in the front so you can see the gift, the candle is an LED candle so you don’t have to worry about it being on.
Sometimes simple and plain can be best. I finally got a hold of some Lawn Fawn Stamps that I have been after for a while on a Facebook Craft Destash Group. They are the Oh Snap and Home for the Holidays stamp sets.
I wanted something to show off how cute these stamps are so I wanted a plain card blank for them to be stamped on and then coloured in.
I stamped them and coloured them in with my ProMarkers.
Christmas is a word feared my many, but in the crafting world it is used all year round, sometimes there is not even much point in putting your Christmas crafts away in a dark hidden corner, because there is only around a 4 month ‘down’ period. But when Christmas images are as cute as this one I don’t mind really 🙂
This weeks Polkadoodles theme is Christmas but not a card. That is 100% up my street, I love making bags, home decor pieces and gifts 🙂 I decided to make a handbag style gift bag this time 🙂
Well yes, another lockdown post. Hope we are all keeping safe and well and looking after each other. One of the big things I was excited about with the easing of lockdown is catching up with friends, theres only so much texting and out of focus video calls a girl can handle.
One of my favourite things to do is meet for breakfast/brunch and yes pancakes do count as a meal 🙂 I thought it would be a lovely idea to use this time to invite friends to meet up in a fun and different way by making a piece of home decor, to remind them they are loved, and yes you must meet soon!!!
This week I made this fun wreath, from white card circle, that has the printable papers torn and glued to it to add a vintage look to the piece, these were simply printed out on white 120gsm paper and torn, to reveal the white core of the paper and glued onto the circle.
The ring was formed by cutting a ring out of 300gsm White card stock and was added onto the front of the torn paper circle, with foam pads to add dimension.
I then fussy cut the digi stamp, after it was printed and coloured in with my alcohol pens. I added her with foam pads to add even more dimension onto my wreath. It was then that I added the tree and butterfly to provide a backdrop.
An idea then came to me to make a little bunting garland at the top of my project, as where we go for breakfast with friends has bunting up, and all our houses have bunting up in every nook and cranny. So I cut triangles out of the printed papers and added them to some nude twine and popped it into the corner of the wreath, and yes very pleased with the result. 🙂
I finally fussy cut and made up my own sentiment ‘lets meet soon’ using the printable alphabet.
Gems and faux stitching were added as a final flourish with a ribbon hanging hook.
This lockdown and pandemic has definitely reminded us to try and talk more to loved ones and treasure what we all have.
