Today’s card is a faux stepper card, I was watching Sams (Mixed Up Crafters) video on Youtube, of her take on the stepper card and a faux way to represent it. I loved it. The idea of doing it this way has never crossed my mind, but my it does make sense.
I have used kraft card to make my card blank, as I thought it would work well with the Violet Studio Plant Lover collection that I have purchased recently. I have used some rose gold card, that I have scored on my scoreboard at every 1/8″ to create texture. I love how simple this is to do but how much difference it makes.
I have then added some papers from the Paper pad and some of the plants from the embellishments set and a tag. I have put some on foam pads to create dimension.
This is my card for the Polkadoodles challenge, it was for a birthday and to be a spinner/slider card using orange and pinks 🙂
I like to make kinetic cards and those two colours work so well together, so I was pleased to make this. I used an orange card blank and added on a hot pink mat layer and then for the spinner element, I die cut the mechanism out of card that I had ink blended.
The mechanism shows off the orange of the card underneath. I have used the cute Llama love and hugs pre coloured digital stamp for the spinner element.
Finally I have used a piece of colourful paper in the middle circle and added a simple ‘Happy Birthday’ sentiment. I wanted to add a softer element to the card so I die cut some simple flowers and leaves out of vellum and added them on around the sentiment, all finished off with some gems and dots.
I have recently bought this Creative Paper Collection by Craft Sensations at The Range, I must admit I was not 100% sure about it but I thought I would give it ago, as I liked the front cover. I know never judge a book by its cover, but never mind…
I then bought a couple of these Dovecraft enamel drops, I hadn’t seen the pink one before. These were a bargain at 99p.
I decided I wanted to make a card using just these and a card blank. Normally I struggle to make cards by just using a few supplies, especially when I wasn’t sure about the paper pad.
Well I was surprised and it was a success. The collection has so many beautiful bits to it. There’s ribbon, tags, stickers, postcards, papers, toppers and more. I decided to grab a 5×5″ kraft card blank and get crafting. I used the hexagonal pieces in the collection to make a simple quilt effective background and then added the long sticker on the bottom with a tag and some cute stickers from the collection and I must say it’s the quickest yet cutest card I’ve ever made. No colouring, stamping, paper folding or die cutting!!! Wow!!
All topped off with a few drops of the new enamel drops.
Been a baker means I am a sucker for any papers that have cake or baking designs, so I have to buy it, so therefore the Oh So Sweet Paper pad in 12×12″ had to be purchased from Craft Label before Christmas.
I wanted to make a card for a dear friend of mine and she is also a baker so I thought she might like this card. I have made a tri fold card, following Sam from Mixed up Crafts tutorial.
I started with 2 sheets of white card and added a lilac pearl mat layer and then the Oh So Sweet papers layered on top. I wanted to keep the card quite simple but pretty, so I fussy cut the cakes and biscuits etc out of the paper pad and added them up onto the front of the card.
Finally I added some Nuvo drops onto the front panel and a piece of white card for me to put my message on. (I have covered that up in the photo.)

I found some papers in a Charity Shop last year and I have finally got around to sorting them out and in the packet there were 2 sets of these Flippin’ Stamps by La’Pashe and now I need every set, but they seem very very hard to find.
Today I decided to use the Gardener set, to make a Spinner card. I thought it would work well as the Flippin’ part of the set is great as you get the front and back of the image. I think all stamps of people should have front and back image.
I used Versafine ink and my stamping platform to stamp the images and my Arteza Everblends to colour them in.
After gluing on the mats to the card blank I used some white thread to attach the gardener man onto the card. Ironically I couldn’t find my invisible thread that I normally use.
I decided it looked a little plain so I have used a mixture of stamps from Daisy Mae designs, First Edition and random sets to add some gardening themed images onto the card and finished the card off with a sentiment from the Flippin’ Stamp set.
Sorry that I have been AWOL for a while but you know how life gets at times. I am back though with a new post all about Issue 104 of Creative Stamping magazine. I do have to admit that this magazine is my all time favourite. This issue comes with some beautiful Japanese inspired stamps and a gorgeous embossing folder. These have been designed by Paper Discovery, so no wonder they are stunning.
I wanted to make a tunnel style card to really show off as many stamps as possible. This magazine does come with some digital papers to download and print, but as per normal my printer was not playing ball, so I have used the Botanical Gardens pad from The Works instead. £3 can’t go wrong.
Firstly I have stamped the stamps I needed, with my Versafine Ink Pad and a stamping platform onto white card and coloured them in with my Arteza Everblends and Copics.
I, then fussy cut the images and started to construct the card. I have used the infamous Lidl card stock in purple and royal blue, which I have then used the Botanical Gardens to mat on top. I have then cut the circles out of the middles to create the tunnel.
After putting the card parts together I started to think about where the images would go. I really like the focal circle stamp you get in the stamp set, so I used that as the main image in the background and then used all the rest to make a scene on each of the layers.
Finally I used the embossing folder on some dark metal mirri card, and put them on the sides of the card.
Well for this weeks Polkadoodles challenge, it was a card with a window. I instantly thought of a card with a window on the front of the card blank, so it looks like you are looking into a scene.
I have used red and kraft card to create my card blank and window on the front. For my window scene I have used the wonderful Santas workshop and I have printed it out several times and layered up parts to make more of a 3d scene. The gingerbread popping out the box, may be the cutest thing I have ever seen.
For the background behind the Santas workshop I have used the snowflake design from Winnie White Christmas Papers. Finally I have added a simple sentiment to finish off the card.
Autumn or Fall is my favourite time of year. I am not keen on Summer at all. So as soon as it’s acceptable to wear knitted jumpers and scarves carrying a mug of Gingerbread Hot Chocolate and picking up pinecones and conkers I am in my happy place, it also means I can start crafting more and more.
Before I start my Christmas crafting full time I like to do some Autumn crafting and whip up some cosy cards. Since the theme this week was Thanks, I knew I wanted to include some lovely rusts and brown colours to represent Autumn on my Thanks card.
I have made a card blank with an acetate front and added some fussy cut pieces from the Autumn Digi stamps and added them on to the acetate, some with glue and some with foam pads to give dimension. It gives the look of them falling.
I have also added some gems and my ‘Thanks’ sentiment onto the front with a black border.
I love making little gift boxes and bags for presents for any occasion, but with Christmas its an excuse to do more of them 🙂
So to pop a little Christmas present in this box, will make the gift even extra special.
To make the gift even more special, Wanda the Penguin is the star of the show!!! I have coloured her in with my alcohol markers and added some glossy accents to make her shine even more.
For the milk carton style box, I have used white card and matted it with snowflake papers from the Winnie White Christmas Collection.
I have then added some tags onto the top, with a little wooden peg and some twine. These are perfect to add a little message on 🙂
This weeks Polkadoodles challenge was all themed around animals so I decided to use the ever so sweet Eli the Elephant. I chose the pre-coloured version, I love that this is an option.
This time I have made a 5×7″ Kraft card blank, and cut it down to a smaller panel at the front. I have then added the lovely check papers which are definitely a favourite of mine.
I wanted to make a little scene for Eli to go in, so I have used some the autumn stamps, which I have printed and fussy cut and attached them to a thin strip of acetate.
