Under the Sea

I am loving using the weekends to enjoy the sun, from the safety of my Craft room to start using more mixed media type products. When my copy of Creative Stamping issue 95 came through the door, I thought it was perfect to use. I adore sea and ocean themes, as I feel happiest swimming around in the water, whether that be the sea or the local pool.

I have used the stamps from the magazine and fussy cut them to add onto the front of this card. I have also used a wave themed stencil I had from Daisy Mae to make a background piece from kraft card.

I used Distress Oxide inks for this and then my nod to mixed media I’ve used Nuvo Crackle Mousse over the heart section of the stencil that came with the magazine to give a subtle shine and texture.

Then I have distressed the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink to give a rusty under the water vibe. I have then added that onto a piece of blue glitter and on a kraft card card-base.

The fussy cut elements have been added on to the card, with hot glue and some hessian/jute and some silver rope ribbon underneath.

Finally the pearl gems have been added, as I can’t not put any on a card lol. I’ve also added some twine onto the tag and a scroll made from some rolled up tea stained paper.

Hope you like it ๐Ÿ™‚ x

Slimline Cards

I do like Slimline cards, but I always find them difficult to do for some reason. So when Polkadoodles challenged me to a slimline card, my heart race increased.

When I had calmed down lol, I decided to pick the adorable Horace and Boo (YES!!! Again lol, they are just too cute.) I wanted them to be the main focus on the card, but I also wanted a fun background, to really make their characters pop.

I decided on the the Bright Little Monsters papers, which are really my go to. They are really a must have by Polkadoodles! I have used them as the background and then has faux stitched panels on the card base.

I thought of the perfect sentiment, as it works with the card image and life at the moment, as I think more than ever we all need someone we can count on.

I am now off to learn why I find Slimline cards hard to do. Take care.

Dragonflies over Night Skies

When Polkadoodles had the challenge of Dragonflies, I knew I had to use the lovely Octavia Digi Stamp, she has been coloured with my alcohol markers in wonderful bright colours.

I wanted her as the main focus so I decided to use a simple black card base, with an acetate front to put her on. I wanted to give the impression she was flying over the skies, so I used my Alcohol Inks and blended my own background to use as the background. I have also cut out a simple cresent moon shape and cloud shapes, that have been edged and spotted with some delicate inks, to give them a more realistic finish than bright white.

I also added specks of white paint to act as stars. I have finished off the card with a lovely sentiment and some sparkly gems.

Flower Power

I Love flowers, gardening and all that comes with it, so when the project was to make something that has Spring Flowers, I squeaked with delight.

I made a yellow flower shaped card base, with a smaller white flower shape in the centre. The yellow therefore acts as a border, I used my inks to create a scene on the white flower.

I thought this would be perfect to put the very happy ice-cream licking Horace and Boo on.

In the the centre of the flower I thought it would be cute to add a sentiment in a shaker window, so I used my go to sentiment bundle and added some acetate and Spring coloured sequins.

I am really happy how this card came out ๐Ÿ™‚

Herbs and Plants

I didn’t need any more stamps, especially ones with Plants, but when I saw this in Simply Cards and Papercraft, I had to buy it!!!

I love stamps and papers that are all about Nature. I can’t really tell you why, I just do for some reason. Maybe as I love the countryside and would spend all my time there pottering around.

I wanted to make my Godmother a Birthday card, and she LOVES gardening just like I do, so I thought this would be perfect.

I wanted to keep it quite simple and not add too much dimension, which is very unlike me, as I am all about the grander and more complicated the better.

This is a 6×6 card blank, if Kraft Card. Which I adore and I think it works very well with the look I was going for. I’ve used a mat and layer in a peach colour and the hessian style green.

Finally I’ve added the four faux stitched die cut squares with the coloured in stamps onto the card, and added a sentiment in the middle, with a little Bird charm to finish it off.

Hope you like it.

Spring Fun

Spring is arriving and Easter fun will soon be here. I love to make Homemade treats for my Family and Friends, so making some nice boxes to put them in is always fun.

I made this tall thin box to pop some little handmade shortbreads in. I used the lovely collection of Winnie papers, and scored the sides and added a lid with the same paper collection. Such a lovely pastel collection, they go with everything not just in Spring time.

I also wanted to add a bit of WOW onto the box, so I cut strips out of the papers and folded into a bow and added onto the top of the box ๐Ÿ™‚

The tag that I’ve made to attach to the box has had two die cut circles in it, that Ive added a shaker element too, with some Spring sprinkles. I’ve added Holly onto the tag as she is the cutest. Finally to finish off the tag I’ve kept it simple with a small sentiment.

Hope you like it. xo

Spring is nearly here

I love Winter, the cold and the excuse to wrap up and wear too many layers. But I think like most this year a little warmer weather and the spring flowers appearing is what we all need. And of course… Easter.

I decided to make this plant pot style card, to demonstrate how cards don’t just have to be plain and simple shapes. This is a 3D card, which I have used Kraft card, which I adore to make the base, which has been embossed with a wood look folder and then added a top for the pot using a strip of card from the lovely paper range, here.

I have then added the cutest little Bunny onto the front and its been coloured with alcohol markers.

Whilst I looked at the card, I wanted to add a fun element to it, so I added some cut out carrot shapes and egg shapes to the plant pot, so it looks like they’ve grown and ready to be picked.

The top of the pot has had a lovely peach coloured Rick Rack trim to it and completed it with a simple sentiment.

Happy Pancake Day

Love love love pancakes, and one pancake day is not enough, the truth be told I made some yesterday for a snack!

I have made this Penny Slider card using the adorable SugarPop Stamp. I have coloured her in to match the bright backing papers.

I have matted the bright papers on a yellow card blank and added the penny slider element by cutting a semi circle track in the paper. I put it at the top, above the stamp so it looks like she is tossing the pancakes.

I have added the cut out pancakes from a larger stamp that I printed out, as I thought it made the Birthday Slider element.

I have then added the perfect sentiment, and some faux stitching to finish off the card ๐Ÿ™‚

Hope you like it.

Birthday… Hip Hip Horray!!!

Love making birthday cards, and especially ones that are not always what the appear to be. I love the Peek A Boo style cards, and thats why I thought this style would be perfect with the gorgeous Unicorn Digi Stamp. I have coloured these in with my alcohol markers and added them to the front window of the card.

The card has been matted with these lovely bright papers. I love this paper pack as its so cheerful and versatile.

The card, when opened, the stamped image disappears and the Birthday sentiment is revealed.

I have also added some simple bunting and stars from die cuts off the same paper pad and added these for some fun.

Hope you like it ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks

Now 2021 is here we still need to remain thankful for all who have helped us through and are still helping us.

The card is an easel card, made with the adorable Helga coloured in with my alcohol pens. I wanted her to be the focal point so I wanted just a simple pattern for the rest of the card, so I used the lovely Rainbow Papers for the mats. ๐Ÿ™‚

I used the Thank you sentiment as the stopper for the easel, as it will be on show. I then added a little cute frame, that I fussy cut from the Octavia Moonfly Collection and added it to the back of Helga.

Hope you like. xo
